Tips on tying that beautiful Gele

There are different styles of head wrapping. Even an intricate-looking style starts with a basic procedure. We recommend that you consult an expert for help with the more elaborate and intricate styles as most experts can look at a picture and re-create the style.

Most importantly here are the basic steps to always take into

consideration while tying your gele:

• You will need to tie your hair up if you have long hair like me***winks***
• Then fold the head gear fabric (aso-oke) to a width of about six inches and hold your material at each end.
• Place your material at the very lower back of your neck while still holding each end of the material.
• Still holding the material, pull the left end of the material forward to the front of your head and place over to the right side of your head, then do the same for the right hand side of the material placing it over to the left of your head.
• Hold both ends of the material and pull both ends to the back of your head. 
• Take both ends (tips) and tie them tightly together, you can always double knot so that it won't slip off.
• Now that you have your gele tied on your head, youcan now shape it to your desired style. 
• The shaping can be done in different ways, you will have to fold it well at the front and make it lay well (big orsmall). You basically need to play around it so as toget your desired shape .

This final step is the most consuming time for beginners, but

there is still no need to worry as you will soon become an

expert after few trials.
